The Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy is a charitable organisation and a centre for shared learning, knowledge and practice in the field of cranial osteopathy, offering post-graduate courses across the UK and in Europe.
The faculty is setting the standard for cranial osteopathy teaching in the UK and is innovating and leading the profession through an active research programme.
Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy was founded in 1993 by a group of committed British osteopathic lecturers, concerned that teaching should be of the best possible quality. It is the centre for shared learning, knowledge and practice of cranial osteopathy offering a range of courses for post-graduate osteopathic study.
The SCCO remains true to its core values of providing exceptional teaching, research in the cranial field and education in cranial osteopathy. The SCCO will continue to deliver interactive and practical courses enabling students to carry new knowledge and skills into their own practices.
Our courses are regularly highly praised by past students and offer the opportunity to study all aspects relating to the study of osteopathy in the cranial field. SCCO run courses that cater for all levels of ability from those new to the approach, to advanced studies. We operate mostly in the UK but are developing a European presence, especially in Germany where we have been teaching for 15 years.
Any student with a degree in Osteopathy is eligible to take our courses, selecting what interests them most. However, there are entry requirements for more advanced courses. To gain full benefit from all that the college offers, there are a number of membership options available for a small annual fee.
The SCCO Modular pathway of the college has links to the membership categories and ultimately leads to becoming a Fellow of the College. Fellows are eligible to apply for the SCCO teacher training scheme and are full voting members of the College.
Over recent years, the SCCO has responded to the need for research, communication and dialogue with the public. As the position of osteopathy in health care changes over time, the SCCO is responding by expanding its' activities.
