Coronavirus Update – 20 March 2020
The SCCO Trustees have been carefully following the progress of coronavirus both in the UK and across Europe. The situation in the UK has progressed rapidly and has resulted in the difficult but necessary decision being taken that all SCCO courses in the UK up to July 2020 must be cancelled. All students booked on to these affected courses should have received an email detailing the actions being taken. If you are booked on to one of the affected courses and have not received an email from us please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
A decision has not yet been made regarding the Module 2 course due to run in Germany in June 2020, but we will contact students currently booked on to this course once we know more.
The Trustees and office team send all the SCCO family our best wishes, and look forward to seeing you all again when better times return.
The coronavirus is spread like a cold. Therefore, when assessing the best procedures to mitigate the spread of the virus it is sensible to follow existing health and hygiene measures, which are likely to be the measures you follow when treating patients and that will also reduce the transition of colds.
Please read and follow the advice below whenever possible:
Cover your coughs and sneezes
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw used tissues into a lined rubbish bin and wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, immediately clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol, covering all surfaces of your hands and rubbing them together until they feel dry.
Keep washing your hands
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Soap and water should be used in preference to hand sanitizer if hands are visibly dirty. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
