LECTURE: Essential Philosophy within the Art and Science of Osteopathy
30 NOVEMBER 2019
During this lecture we will explore the philosophical foundations of our craft and how the inspirational teachings of the early osteopaths continue to guide and enliven our community today. Just as Dr William Sutherland was sparked by a ‘guiding thought’ which directed his life journey, we each embody thoughts that resonate with our heartfelt values as we work. Dr. Sutherland, Dr Rollin Becker and others saw the need to ‘read between the lines’ of Dr Still and to forever ‘dig on’ (because there are always more potatoes!). When we draw sustenance from the roots of the osteopathic tree, we tend its living shoots with greater surety, even in unstable times.
All are welcome to attend this lecture.
WORKSHOP: Tuning the Instrument
1 DECEMBER 2019
This workshop introduces the practical application of some ‘guiding thoughts’ from our osteopathic predecessors and contemporaries in related fields. These thoughts will form a starting place, through cooperative enquiry, to set the stage for wider perception in palpation, diagnosis and treatment.
To attend the workshop you should have either completed our Module 2: Osteopathy in the Cranial Field or have equivalent cranial experience.

A very enthusiastic lecturer, at the top of his scientific game; he didn’t try to “dumb down” any of his presentation; he was humorous in the right places. The subject matter was very relevant to our ideas and work.
Excellent throughout.
It was an outstanding example of superb quality teaching. Every piece of information thoughtfully, succinctly and astonishingly put together – a superbly crafted piece of teaching, delivery and presentation of information.
Great speaker and highly relevant to our work. Well planned sessions, enjoyed exploring the difference in palpation.
Very useful event which was highly informative and very well orientated to the osteopathic perspective.
Superb delivery of complex information given ‘simply’ in visuals and in teaching. So much thought had gone into creating this workshop, this was very evident. A privilege to attend. Teaching, planning, teaching materials/aids exquisitely delivered.
