This year the weekend will be held in the Kairos Centre, a catholic retreat and conference centre in Roehampton, Southwest London. The centre is an urban oasis located within acres of landscaped gardens and overlooking the historic Richmond Park.
We have a very interesting weekend planned thus far.
On Saturday we are fortunate to have Jo Wildy DO present four sessions on her exciting new book, Mind & Membrain – Head Trauma and Mental Health (Troubador Publishing, UK 2022). The sessions (which combine lectures and practicals) will include the origin of the book; an introduction to the biological complexity of treating head trauma; the embryological connection; and a distillation of treating what Jo calls membrain disorder. Jo is very keen to pass her knowledge and experience onto our faculty.
On Sunday we are looking forward to having Alison Brown and the Education Review team present another interesting series of discussion and workshops which may include the following:
– Growing Our Skills; mentoring (in person or by Zoom); facilitating and marking assignments etc.
– Pathway curriculum design and communication – so everyone knows what we offer…
– Being an SCCO teacher: individual development & shared learning
