OPEN TO ANY QUALIFIED OSTEOPATH

This course explores the osteopathic concepts that underpin the support we can offer to women with gynaecological health problems. From dysmenorrhoea to cystitis, fibroids to fertility issues, post partum maladaptation to post hysterectomy recovery, women often suffer in silence and the medical system alone often does not have all the answers.

We will look in detail at how to interpret the clinical presentation and what osteopathy can offer to aid our patients’ recovery, re-familiarising ourselves with the relevant anatomical structures; pelvic organs, the autonomic nervous system, crucial blood vessels and obviously the treatment of these structures.

Upon completion, osteopaths will be able to analyse the patients’ presentations as to the cause of their symptoms and clearly interpret the symptoms the women are presenting with, categorising them into hormonal and structural reasons. The understanding of the interrelationship of stress, lifestyle, metabolism and hormones will be explored in detail and therefore inform treatment and management plans, specific to the individual patient.

In turn, our patients will benefit from this enhanced understanding and approach, as the practitioner analyses more specifically the limitations and opportunities of osteopathic practice with regards their case. To support the patient further, knowledge and understanding of onward referral will be enhanced during the course. Patients will feel well supported through osteopathic treatment and further advice given during these rather stressful and unsettling times in their lives.
